In the foothills of the NamibRand Nature Reserve, a vast conservation area spanning 184 000 hectares of pristine Namib Desert, the largest private nature reserve in Southern Africa.
The lodge's unusual design allows unimpeded desert vista - an ensemble of glass and stone curves, its walls become windows or fold away completely for uninterrupted views.
There are 10 stone and glass villas spread out along the curve of the escarpment, each private and spacious, with air-conditioning, shaded deck, split-level bedroom and living room with fireplace, en-suite glass-encased bathroom and outdoor shower. Villas are equipped with a star-viewing sky light, fully stocked personal bar, compact telescope for game spotting, service intercom to the main lodge and a discreet CD system.
The lodge comprises quiet hideaways and viewing decks, a fire-lit bar, airy dining-room, swimming pool, sundeck and waterhole nearby.
Activities include game viewing on walks, open safari vehicles or motorcycles, eve nfrom a hot air balloon.
