Zambia's best-known festival is the Kuomboka, held near the town of Mongu in Western Zambia towards the end of the rainy season in late March or early April. The Lozi chief and his family are paddled in massive war-canoes across the Zambezi floodplains from their palace at Lealui to Limulunga, where the royal residence is high enough to evade the rising waters.
An unparalleled adventure experience, one of the wonders of the world and excellent game viewing in any one of the four nearby countries - no visit to Southern Africa is complete without a trip to the falls.
Zambia is becoming increasingly popular as a safari destination. It is home to a huge variety of mammals including elephant, hippo, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and lion. The huge land-locked country has vast areas of wilderness, which have never borne witness to the footprint of man. It has large areas of rich woodland, lakes, swamps and rivers. Enjoy sundowner cruises on the Zambezi River or simply enjoy the abundant wildlife activity at the waters edge. Victoria Falls is particularly spectacular from the Zambian Side.>>
