Worldwide Experience offers self-funding volunteers a unique opportunity to work on some of the worlds leading conservation and community projects. Specialising in conservation projects to Southern Africa individuals have the chance to work on some of Africa's premier private game reserves or leading marine ocean research projects.

Worldwide Experience works in conjunction with the Born Free Foundation in allowing volunteers to get involved in making a contribution to conservation through working on the world famous Shamwari Game Reserve, home to two Born Free Foundation Big Cat Sanctuaries.

The Born Free Foundation is at the forefront of drawing the public's attention to the plight of wild animals confined in impoverished captive environments and promoting through education and public awareness, a humane agenda. Here under the African sun at Shamwari, the big cats at last enjoy life where nature intended.

Placements range from 2 to 12 weeks, during which time you can be involved in conservation projects like anti-poaching patrols, monitoring and counting of wildlife, darting and animal capture, bush rehabilitation and the day to day maintenance of the reserve as well as feeding of the Born Free Big Cats.

Other placements also include a variety of conservation initiatives and Game Ranger programmes as well as rewarding community projects helping to uplift local African townships. For each booking made through Worldwide Experience a donation is made to the Born Free Foundation.
